In Articulate 360 Teams, permissions determine what team members can do and which areas they can access. Setting these permissions correctly is important for collaboration, management, and security.
Types of permissions
Permissions are divided into three functions:
| Function | Description |
|---|---|
| Creating | Create and edit content in the Articulate 360 apps. |
| Managing | Team, group, and account management. |
| Distributing | Manage learners and distribution in Reach 360. |
Creating
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Creator | Can use Storyline 360, Rise 360, and other apps to create e-learning and collaborate. Uses one creator license. |
| Localization | Enables translations in Rise 360 and Storyline 360 (only when Articulate Localization is activated). |
Managing
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Account Owner | Manages billing and purchases of extra creator licenses. Also has primary admin permissions by default. |
| Primary Admin | Has all permissions of a 360 admin plus additional options such as activating SSO, adjusting the subdomain, and configuring Reach 360. |
| 360 Admin | Manages all team members and groups. Can activate Reach 360 and assign Reach permissions. Doesn’t use a creator license. |
| Group Manager | Manages only assigned groups. Can add, remove, and move members within that group. |
Distributing
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Reach Admin | Manages all learners, trainings, and settings in Reach 360. |
| Reach Manager | Manages only assigned groups. |
| Reach Reporter | Has access to the reporting dashboard only. |
Key tasks per role
| Task | Who can do this |
|---|---|
| Create e-learning | Creator |
| Translate content (Localization) | Creator |
| Add or remove team members | Primary Admin, 360 Admin, Group Manager |
| Manage licenses and create groups | Primary Admin, 360 Admin |
| Make purchases or manage subscription | Account Owner |
| Activate/deactivate Reach 360 | Primary Admin, 360 Admin |
Transfer account ownership
A team can have multiple admins, but only one account owner and one primary admin.
If you want to transfer ownership, contact Articulate Support with:
name of the new account owner
email address
phone number
Assign a new admin
Only primary admins and 360 admins can add new admins.
Because these roles do not use a license, you can assign multiple admins.
? Tip: always assign at least one extra 360 admin as a backup so you’re never without an administrator.
